Cradle 2 Crayons is a year round program.
We offer care from 6wks through 12 years. We also offer both
3K and 4K programs.
Cradle 2 Crayons derives it’s monthly themes, concepts and related activities from the High Reach
curriculum. Lesson plans are developed for each classroom based on the needs discovered
through the children’s individual assessments. Activities are chosen from the High Reach
curriculum that will encourage individual skill development. We use the High Scope
approach to classroom management.
DAILY SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES
Daily schedules will vary by age group. Each classroom will have a daily schedule
posted in the room.
CLASS ASSIGNMENTSChildren are assigned to a classroom based on their age and the Alabama
childcare regulations.
STAFF TO CHILD RATIOS
Cradle 2 Crayons will always follow the state guidelines for child to
staff ratios. .
NAP/REST TIMEMost age groups will nap between 12- 2pm. There is no set schedule for infants on napping. Every child of walking age and up will be required to provide a cloth napmat. We have them for sale in the office if needed. EDUCATIONAL/PERSONAL CARE SUPPLIES NEEDED
Cradle 2 Crayons will charge an annual supply fee in September for
educational supplies. Parents are responsible for maintaining adequate personal
care supplies for us to care for your child.
BIRTHDAY/HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONSWe will be happy to help your child celebrate their birthday or special holiday as
long as the parent provides all necessary supplies. Any parties held will be at 2:00 p.m. during snacktime.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES/COMMUNICATION
Informal parent/ teacher conferences are available at any time.Parents are encouraged to attend all conference
request. Failure to attend a requested conference may result in dismissal from the program.

GRADUATION
Cradle 2 Crayons will host a graduation ceremony for those children entering
Kindergarten in the fall. Graduation is generally the 3rd week of May. Graduation is not
mandatory, but you are required to notify the office if your child will not be participating in the
program. Those children with behavioral problem may not be allowed to participate without
parental assistance.
